Top 10 Engineering Exams in India

1. JEE Mains

JEE stands for Joint Entrance Examination. This examination is administered by the National Test Agency (NTA) every year, and held in the months of January/February and April/May. Up to 11 lakh students appear every year for this examination. It is among the most challenging engineering exams in India. Many colleges including the NIT, IIIT, IIT, GFTI consider JEE mains score for admission. The registration forms for the same are made available every year in the months of December and February/March. The exam consists of 75 questions each carrying 4 marks and the duration of the exam is of three hours.

2. BITSAT

BITSAT is the short form for “Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test”. Each year the Birla Institute of Technology and Science conducts an entrance exam for aspirants seeking a career in engineering or applied science domain. The examination is conducted every year in the month of May. More than 2 lakh students from all over the country appear for this entrance examination every year. This engineering exam in India is accepted by BITS Pilani, Hyderabad, and Goa. In December or January, the registration form for the exam is released. Total 140 questions are needed to be solved in a time frame of 3 hours for 450 marks.

3. COMEDK UGCET

COMEDK UGCET stands for Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Under Graduate Entrance Test. The examination is conducted every year in the month of May for the students who wish to pursue engineering and architecture education in Karnataka state. More than 120 colleges accept COMEDK scores in their admission process. 60 to 70 thousand students appear for this examination annually to seek admission into good colleges in the state of Karnataka. 4. MHT CET

Maharashtra state common entrance test is the annual examination conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education in association with the Government of Maharashtra. Notable universities accepting admissions through MHT CET include VJTI (Veermata Jijabai Technical Institute), University of Mumbai, College of Engineering Pune. 5. VITEEE

Vellore Institute of Technology is the conducting body of VITEEE (Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination) and invites applications from all over India. VIITEEE is one of the top engineering exams in India held by the institute for students who wish to pursue their career in different engineering fields. The examination takes place in April and accepts registration from November to January. Up to 2 lakh students appear for VITEEE annually. The students qualified in the entrance exam can seek admission into VIT Vellore, VIT Chennai, VIT Bhopal, VIT-AP University (Amaravati), and Woxsen University Hyderabad. The exam comprises 80 questions each carrying 1 mark which needs to be completed in 90 minutes.

6. SRMJEE

SRMJEEE is a university-level examination that acts as a common entrance examination for all SRM Group institutes and universities located at Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, NCR – Ghaziabad, Ramapuram Part – Vadapalani, Amravati, Haryana, and Sikkim. SRMJEEE is conducted in three phases every year in the months of January, April, and June. The entrance examination mainly focuses on the engineering education institutes situated in North India. Annually, More than 2.3 lakh students appear for this examination. Registration for each phase can be done from November to February. The question paper needs to be solved in 2 hours and 30 minutes completing all the 125 questions within the time limit.

7. TS EAMCET

TS EAMCET stands for Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture, and Medical Common Entrance Test. The examination is conducted annually in the first week of July for the students who wish to pursue education in Agriculture, Engineering, and medical fields. The registration process starts in January and concludes in the first week of March. Almost every engineering institute situated in Telangana State accepts TS EAMCET score.
